Moot Court Association (MCA) is the body that regulates, monitors and co-ordinates the mooting activities in the institution. Mooting activity under MCA includes National and International Moot Court Competitions, Client Counselling, Mediation & Negotiation Competitions and Mock Trial Advocacy Competitions. The primary objective of the MCA is to provide the students of KMC, a platform to gain exposure to the practical aspects of legal education. MCA lays down a policy every year on how the mooting works in the institution and the rules and regulations governing them. MCA comprises student members, who will be under the supervision of the faculties-in-charge. Orientation and training sessions will be sufficiently provided to the students to equip them to ace these competitions.
Internal moot rounds called the freshers moot round and senior moot rounds will be conducted to assess the students. Based on the ranks obtained by the students in these rounds, they will get to take up the opportunity of representing the college in national and international mooting activities.
Under the MCA, Moot Court Society (MCS) is formed, whereby, various guidance as to the method of approach, skillset training and mock trials and mock pleading with regards to Mooting Activities will be carried out. The students who have utmost interest in mooting can enhance their skillset for the same by joining the society. The members shall be selected on the basis of their performance in the Fresher’s Moot Round. Among these members, Senior Mooters having prior experience in mooting shall be the strategists. MCS is further guided and supervised by the MCA convenor and co-convenor.
